How does it work?
Pick a story, add one photo and their first name, and see the free preview in about two minutes. Happy? Choose softcover or hardcover and pay. We print the book near you and post it. About five minutes of your time, start to finish.
Will it arrive in time?
Order by 21 October for Halloween and by 10 December for Christmas, and it is there. Most books arrive within 7 to 10 days. All dates and the refund promise are on the Delivery page.
What kind of photo works best?
One clear photo of their face, looking at the camera, in daylight if you can. Phone photos are perfect. No hats, no sunglasses, no siblings in the frame.
Can I make one for my grandchild, a niece, or as a gift?
Yes. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and family friends order most of our books. We ask you to confirm you have the parents' okay when you upload the photo. The photo is used for this book only, never shared or sold, and deleted automatically after 24 hours.
I don't have a photo of them. Can I still give it?
Yes. Give a gift card. It arrives by email, never expires, and the parents make the book with the photo whenever suits them.
What if the preview doesn't look like them?
Try another photo, as often as you like, before you pay. After you order, you have 24 hours of free changes, and a real person on our team checks every book before it prints. If it still doesn't look like them, we remake it free.
What if I made a mistake?
You have 24 hours after ordering to change a name, a spelling or the dedication, free. A real person reads every book before it prints and catches typos. If the book arrives damaged or wrong on our side, we remake it free.
Can it go straight to their house?
Yes. Enter their address at checkout and add a gift message if you like. Far away? Order two, keep one at yours, and read it together over the phone.
Can I choose the language?
Yes, soon. Every book is in English today, and Dutch, Spanish and more languages are on the way. You pick the language in the first step, and the whole book is in one language.
Softcover or hardcover?
Softcover is lighter and bends, which small hands like. Hardcover is the keepsake: a thick board cover, made to be read a hundred times. Both are printed on thick matte paper that survives sticky fingers.
How is the book made?
Every story and rhyme is written by our team. The pictures are made by our team with AI, in our own painted house style, and your child is added to them with AI from the photo you upload. A person on our team checks every book before it prints.
Can I return it?
Each book is made for one child, so there is no 14-day right of withdrawal on a personalised book. You can cancel for free until it goes to print, and if anything is wrong on our side, we remake it free. See Returns and refunds.
